Air Barrier Detailing in Masonry Walls - 1 LU/HSW

Thursday, September 30, 2021 | 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time

Presented by: Hohmann & Barnard

AIA credits and certificates for this webinar will be issued by the presenting vendor.

Learn the importance of maintaining continuity of various types of air barrier systems and the challenges faced when detailing them through real-world examples of construction installations. Topics include air barrier transitions and penetrations, surface preparation and application, and how to fasten anchorage and other systems through the air barrier while maintaining continuity.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will understand the role of a continuous air barrier in the energy efficiency and indoor air quality of a wall system
  • Identify problem areas where continuity is more likely to be compromised, leading to air and moisture infiltration
  • Know the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of air barrier systems across different applications or wall types
  • Attendees will learn how to better detail the air barrier and interfacing components to maintain air barrier integrity
