CENTRAL ILLINOIS MASONRY DAY
Wednesday, May 7, 2025 | 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. CT
3 LU/HSW
Join us for a program presented by the International Masonry Institute (IMI), hosted by the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Local 8 Illinois, and co-sponsored by the Central Illinois Mason Contractors Association (CIMCA) and AIA Illinois.
We’ll explore the enduring value of masonry materials—such as brick, block, stone, terra cotta, tile, and terrazzo—highlighting their historical and architectural significance, as well as their innovative use in contemporary designs. Learn about masonry assembly details, designing for performance and constructability, and the sustainability benefits of these materials in creating durable, adaptable buildings. Gain valuable insights from a mason’s perspective on common issues that increase the cost of masonry projects, constructability problems, rarely mentioned field practices, and more.
Following the educational lectures, join our skilled, trained masonry instructors for a hands-on building experience. Registration for the event is free and lunch is provided.
This program is ideal for architects, engineers, general contractors, construction managers, developers, mason contractors, and other design and construction professionals.
