This week's Oscars brought a lot of excitement, delivered via The Envelope. That reminds us how big a deal the building envelope is for the future of sustainability, which is riding on high performing buildings.

The building envelope is clearly the star, with responsibility for critical functions: moisture, air flow, vapor and heat transfer.

Our customers are really looking for someone to take charge of all four functions, which includes keeping on top of the products and systems that address those functions.

Being responsible for the building envelope isn't as daunting as it might sound. It can be as simple as brick and block (properly installed, of course), or sophisticated new technologies like rain screen walls.

HIgh tech or traditional, BAC contractors install them all.
